My life is not simple right now… In fact, it’s rather complicated and overwhelming. There are stressful family situations that I can’t really talk about, because they’re not my stories to share. Work is hectic. I’m running out of steam.
In times like this, it’s easy to sink into the depths of despair and wallow in self pity. Why me? Why this? Why now? But that is not going to help the situation.
What is needed in times like this are good friends, laughter, hugs, smiles, and hope.
Rather than sitting at home in front of the TV to tune out reality, a nice dinner with a friend can brighten your mood. Exercise lifts your spirits and is good for you too. Simply smiling for no reason can make you happier.
Hope. How does this word make you feel? It’s makes me feel warm and calm. Hope keeps us going when life throws us a curve ball. Hope is life.
Sometimes it can help to remember those who have it so much worse than you. People who are so poor and have such a bleak future that you wonder how they even get out of bed (or off the floor) in the morning. People who are terminally ill. People who are alone.
Why not reach out to lend a helping hand to someone in need? Giving brings joy in abundance.
So if you haven’t picked up on it yet, writing this post is my therapy for the evening. I feel better already. Everything will work out. Hope is here.
