It’s Mother’s Day. And of all the Hallmark holidays, this is the one that makes the most sense to me. Mothers make the world go round.
Nicholas D. Kristof has a poignant column in the New York Times today where he encourages us to celebrate those special mothers who are near and dear to us, but also to keep all the world’s mothers in mind.
He suggests we move the apostrophe in Mother’s Day to Mothers’ Day and do something about maternal mortality and related illnesses.
Please read Mr. Kristof’s piece and pass it on to the mothers in your life. And if you’re a mother, have a amazingly relaxing day. You’re doing a wonderful job and nobody said it was going to be easy!
And as a mother yourself — Happy Mothers’ Day — I was looking through some old pictures the other day and found some of Rebecca when you guys first moved to Waco — pretty cute —
Thanks Larry! We were looking through a bunch of old pictures here the other week as well for a Mother’s Day school project. So many memories and so much fun! Enjoy today.
