Dear God,
It bothers me that over a billion people are starving every day. I pray that in 2011 you make sure that everybody has enough to eat.
Sincerely,
Caring Human

Dear Caring Human,
It breaks my heart that my children are starving. If you only took your share of the world’s resources and encouraged others to do the same, everybody would have enough to eat.
With Love,
God
Dear God,
It makes me sad that so many animal species are going extinct. I pray that this year you protect the endangered species so we don’t continue losing these animals.
Best,
Concerned Human
*****
Dear Concerned Human,
Humans are responsible for the abnormally rapid rate at which animal species are going extinct today. You can help protect animals by polluting less, not eating animal species which are on the decline, and raising awareness.
It is up to you to take care of your brothers and sisters of other species.
Hugs,
God
Dear God,
It would be really great if you could remove and prevent the massive trash islands which are forming in our oceans in 2011. It is not a pretty sight.
Yours,
Disturbed Human
*****
Dear Disturbed Human,
Those trash islands (and overflowing landfills) are caused by the extreme over-consumption and “use-and-toss” philosophy of your culture. The best way to prevent this from getting even worse is to buy less, reuse more, and fix things that are broken rather than throwing them out. Once you get into this mindset, you’ll notice your own weekly trash pile shrinking.
You can do it!
Love,
God

Well said, Tabita!
Thanks!
Forwarding this to everyone!! But feeling a tad guilty!! We are having two sweet girl foreign exchange students and I have gone a bit overboard…Target and Pier One..ack!! I need to confess!!To get ready for them!! Tho I did score a mirror and duvet at the thrift!!! And a lamp at a locally owned antique store!
But hopefully that is IT!!!! And I can consume less this year!!! XXOO
Debi, the fact that you have this awareness puts you light-years ahead of most people (not that it’s a contest!). Sometimes we need things and then it’s OK to buy. Good job shopping at the thrift store!! And enjoy those foreign exchange students!
