“You’ve got to try this organic place in Nyköping!” I excitedly told my bro- & sis-in-law, currently visiting from the Washington D.C. area. They nodded obligingly and followed me to Hellmanska Gården, located on a side street off the main shopping street in Nyköping, Sweden (closest “big” town).
This quaint establishment (280 years old!) consists of (among other things) a bakery, a quite warm restaurant where you place your order, and a courtyard of sorts where you sit and enjoy the food along with magpies and other creatures.
They make all their bread in-house and serve food made mostly with organic, locally-grown ingredients. I ordered a red pepper, goat cheese, and walnut quiche. Others ordered salmon and spinach quiche as well as ham and cheese panini. We savored the food.
My guests were not disappointed.
